What we do

At SOL, we offer something students rarely experience in their own country true language immersion combined with meaningful cultural exchange.

We are not a traditional language school, SOL programmes are short, intensive, and highly interactive designed to build confidence in real-life communication. When students start using English naturally, their motivation and confidence grows and progress accelerates.

Courses for School Students

Our core programmes are designed for school students and focus on interactive learning.

Students take part in:

  • Interactive, communication-based lessons focused on speaking and collaboration
  • Project work and discussions that reflect real-life situations
  • Field trips and cultural visits that bring learning beyond the classroom
  • Full immersion experiences where English is used all day, every day

A key part of the experience is staying with carefully selected host families, which allows students to:

  • practise English in authentic, everyday situations
  • gain insight into local culture and lifestyle
  • build independence and confidence

Courses for University Students & Future Teachers

We also offer programmes for university students and those preparing to become teachers of English.

These courses combine:

  • advanced language development
  • practical teaching insights
  • opportunities to observe experienced teachers in action

Participants gain both linguistic confidence and professional inspiration, making these courses ideal for future educators.

Courses for Teachers

Supporting teachers has always been at the heart of SOL, We offer:

  • In-service teacher training courses (including sponsored/free places)
  • Workshops and seminars delivered in schools and educational centres across Europe
  • Opportunities to connect with international colleagues and exchange ideas

Our approach is practical, collaborative, and focused on real classroom impact.

 Observational Courses in Devon

Teachers who are new to SOL, or considering bringing their students can join our observational courses in Devon these include:

  • observing live student lessons
  • short professional seminars with SOL trainers
  • insight into how immersion programmes are structured and delivered

Importantly, teachers attending with groups are fully included in the academic programme, not just acting as supervisors.

Building International Connections

We actively support the creation of links between schools and teachers across countries, enabling:

  • live communication between students
  • collaborative international projects
  • authentic use of English beyond the classroom

What makes SOL different is that we build direct, long-term partnerships with schools, universities, and ELT associations across Central and South-East Europe.

This allows us to maintain a personal approach, ensure quality, and develop programmes that truly respond to the needs of both students and teachers.
